When I’m not out taking photos, I’m usually planning posts, editing videos, designing graphics, or scheduling content for local businesses I love. Whether it’s a cozy coffee shop, an art studio, or a quirky antiques store, I genuinely enjoy helping small businesses level up their social media in a way that feels real and true to them. I’m all about creating content that connects with people - not just for the algorithm, but for the community.

Where it all began…

How It Started

Bean Shot was my first social media client. I was working there full-time as a barista when I offered to help out with their Instagram - and that’s where it all began. Since I was already immersed in the day-to-day and knew the brand and regulars inside out, creating content that truly reflected the shop’s artisan, community-driven vibe came naturally. My main focus was making their social media feel like an extension of the in-store experience: warm, welcoming, and visually inspiring. From latte art shots to behind-the-scenes moments, I aimed to boost exposure and engagement by keeping things authentic and connected.

Finding My Style (and a Love for Photography)

At Bean Shot, we decided the social media should be just like the shop itself - fun, quirky, and full of personality. I started hunting down trending Reels in the coffee and café space, then teamed up with my manager (and on-screen star), Alex, to recreate them with our own twist. It was a hit - customers loved seeing familiar faces pop up on their feeds, and we ended up with tens of viral videos. Over the course of a year, we grew the account by nearly 2,000 followers, hitting our goal of 5,000 in a year!

During that time, I borrowed a friend’s Canon camera to shoot some higher-quality content - and that’s when everything changed. The difference in visual quality was huge, and more importantly, I discovered how much I genuinely loved photography. That moment sparked a whole new creative direction for me, and it’s been a big part of my work ever since.

Building Skills & Seeing the Glow-Up

Alongside all the fun, quirky videos, I also learned the practical side of managing social media - how to plan and schedule content, design visual assets, and keep a consistent brand voice across platforms. It was a hands-on crash course in everything from content calendars to colour palettes, and I loved every minute of it.

Looking back, the growth is wild. Here's a little before-and-after peek at how far things came - from iPhone snaps and spontaneous posts to polished visuals and strategic content that really worked. The results speak for themselves, and honestly, it’s where my passion for creative storytelling really took off.
